Wymondham College Visits EACDT: Building Connections Through Education, Character and Sport

On Monday, 13 July 2026, the East African Character Development Trust (EACDT) was delighted to welcome students and staff from Wymondham College to our Kawangware hub in Nairobi.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange, shared learning, and meaningful engagement with the young people who participate in our Character Education Through Sport programme.

Throughout the day, visitors spent time interacting with learners at Kawangware Primary School and Kabiro Primary School, learning about their experiences, aspirations, and the role that sport and character education play in their daily lives.

While cricket and sport often provide the initial connection, it is the conversations, shared experiences, and relationships that leave the most lasting impact. Our learners had the opportunity to engage with young people from a different part of the world, broadening their perspectives and building confidence through genuine interaction.

A particularly meaningful part of the visit was the donation of stationery by Wymondham College. These resources will help support learning within our partner schools and provide learners with essential tools to continue their educational journey.

At EACDT, we believe that developing character is just as important as developing skills. Through our programme, young people learn values such as integrity, determination, self-control, social intelligence, gratitude, enthusiasm, optimism, and curiosity; qualities that help them become confident learners, responsible citizens, and future leaders.

Visits like this reinforce the importance of global partnerships in creating opportunities for young people. They allow our learners to see new possibilities for their future while reminding them that they are part of a wider community that believes in their potential.
