Welcoming Dollar Academy to EACDT

At the East African Character Development Trust (EACDT), we believe that sport has the unique ability to connect people, inspire learning, and develop character beyond borders.

We were delighted to welcome students and staff from Dollar Academy in Scotland, who spent time with our programme experiencing first-hand how Character Education is delivered through sport.

The day was filled with energy and excitement as learners and visitors participated in cricket, rugby, rounders, football, and a friendly cricket match. While the games were enjoyable, the true success of the visit lay in the relationships that were built and the values that were shared.

Throughout the day, our young people demonstrated the character traits they develop through our programme, including: curiosity, teamwork, respect, resilience, discipline, and leadership. At the same time, they had the opportunity to interact with young people from another part of the world, broadening their perspectives and building confidence through meaningful cultural exchange.

Visits like these remind us that sport is more than competition, it is a powerful tool for creating friendships, breaking down barriers, and opening doors to new opportunities.
