Transforming Lives Beyond the Cricket Field2025-04-142026-08-03https://eacdt.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/eacdt-logo.pngEACDThttps://eacdt.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/eacdt-logo.png200px200px
At EACDT, one of our greatest ambitions is to transform the lives of girls and boys from disadvantaged communities across Kenya by creating opportunities that inspire learning, growth and hope for the future.
Kabiro Primary School in Kawangware is a powerful example of this impact.
Just three years ago, the school had no library. Following a cricket tour to Kenya, members of Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club generously partnered with EACDT to fund the renovation and stocking of a new library. Today, it provides pupils with a welcoming space to read, learn and develop a lifelong love of books.
The transformation has continued.
In February 2025, members of the Hollywood Golden Oldies Cricket Club (USA) visited Kabiro Primary School through EACDT during their cricket tour of Kenya. Inspired by the school’s needs, they pledged their support.
Only a month ago, the school did not have a single computer for pupils to use. Today, thanks to the generosity of the Hollywood Golden Oldies Cricket Club—especially Vivek Sharma and his non-profit organisation, Raise Funds Inc.—Kabiro Primary School now has a fully equipped computer laboratory, opening up a world of digital learning opportunities for hundreds of children.
These remarkable achievements demonstrate what can happen when individuals, organisations and communities come together with a shared vision. Together, we are not only improving school facilities—we are opening doors to brighter futures for the next generation.
